Sika® Primer-21 W is a water-based primer for preparing substrates before bonding or smoothing. Its filled epoxy formulation treats various absorbent substrates and, within the documented systems, low-absorption surfaces. It is relevant to refurbishment work involving retained tiling or other compatible coverings, where the primer must match the material subsequently applied.
The primer is part of the installation system: establish substrate, absorption and the tile adhesive or leveller to follow. Check adhesion of existing coverings and surface compatibility. Drying and overcoating times must suit site conditions.
