Sika® Backer Rod Fire is a compressible backing rod made from mineral wool within a glass-fibre sheath. It is combined with Sikaflex PRO-3 for fire-resistant joints in walls and floors. Sizing and installation must follow the validated joint configuration.
For a fire-resistant joint, performance applies to the complete assembly. Check substrate, orientation, joint width and depth, and the additional components required by the classification. A fire-resistant product alone does not establish the performance of the whole assembly.
