MEDGYP STAFFMED is an extra-fine white plaster for decorative plasterwork and the production of cast architectural details. Made from natural gypsum sourced in southern Tunisia, this beta hemihydrate plaster has a stated purity above 94%. Its documented applications include decorative ceilings, columns, ceiling roses, mouldings and other pieces produced by casting or modelling.
Preparation requires clean water and clean equipment. The manufacturer recommends gradually sprinkling the powder into water, allowing it to stand for one minute, then mixing at low speed for one to two minutes. The specified plaster-to-water ratio is 125–135%. The French technical sheet gives a seven-minute pourability limit and an initial knife setting time above eight minutes. Batch size should therefore suit the workshop’s production sequence and handling time.
STAFFMED is supplied in 40 kg bags. Store the material in a dry place, protected from moisture and away from direct contact with the ground. Part-used bags should be carefully folded and closed. The stated maximum shelf life is twelve months from manufacture. The technical sheet provides the additional setting and mechanical-property figures needed to assess the product for a particular decorative project.
