MWB TRADING offers importers, distributors and companies in Madagascar products from Tunisia: electrical cables and equipment, LED lighting, pipes and fittings, cement and plaster, and industrial raw materials. Goods leave from Radès (Tunis) or Sfax; our offers are made delivered to the port of arrival, on CFR or CIF terms, in full 20 or 40-foot containers or as groupage for small volumes.

PRODUCT RANGES
The ranges we offer for Madagascar
These ranges from the MWB catalogue are available from Tunisia for delivery to Madagascar. References, required standards and quantities are confirmed in each offer.
Electrical cables and wires
Low and medium-voltage power cables, control cables, building wires and cables. State the cross-sections in mm², the drum lengths and the standard required for your project.
MV/LV distribution transformers, prefabricated substations and medium-voltage switchgear. State the rating, primary and secondary voltages and the type of installation.
HDPE and PVC pressure pipes for water supply, PVC drainage pipes, and PPR pipes and fittings for plumbing. State the diameters, pressure ratings and lengths.
Toamasina, on the east coast, is the country’s main port and handles most of its container traffic. The first section of a new container quay entered service there in March 2026, with depth increased to 16 m in the approach channel and at the quay. From Tunisia, containers travel with transhipment depending on the shipping line, often at Port Louis (Mauritius) or Longoni (Mayotte). At Mahajanga, on the north-west coast, ocean-going ships do not berth: cargo is transferred to barges, and rehabilitation works on the quays began in 2025. For Antananarivo, about 370 km from Toamasina, onward transport after the port is arranged with your freight forwarder.
Import documents
All goods shipped to Madagascar must be covered by a cargo tracking note (BSC), completed online before shipment by the exporter or its freight forwarder on the platform of GasyNet, the technical partner of Malagasy customs. The import file also includes the bill of lading, proof of bank payment, the packing list, the import declaration and the certificate of origin. On the buyer’s side, payment for imports follows the domiciliation rules set by the foreign exchange regulations: check them with your bank before ordering.
Inspection and conformity
In 2007 the BSC replaced the former pre-shipment inspection: checks take place on arrival. At the port of Toamasina, customs scan trucks and containers without opening them and cross-check the images with their risk analysis to target suspicious cargo. The Madagascar Bureau of Standards (BNM) drafts and enforces standards; the National Public Works and Building Laboratory certifies construction materials, including cement. The metric system is compulsory. For lighting, minimum energy performance standards based on harmonised SADC standards were being prepared in September 2026.
What to specify
State the delivery city and the preferred port of arrival, Toamasina or another port, with the references, quantities and required standards, in metric units (cross-sections in mm², lengths in metres, diameters in mm). Say whether several product families can share one container and whether you want a CFR, CIF or FOB offer.
Availability, transport, lead times and documents are confirmed in each offer.

Your questions about importing into Madagascar from Tunisia
What is the BSC and who completes it?
The cargo tracking note (BSC) has been required since 2007 for all goods shipped to Madagascar. It is completed online, before shipment, by the exporter or its freight forwarder on the GasyNet platform. Your freight forwarder confirms the current procedure before loading.
Are goods inspected before shipment?
In 2007 the BSC replaced the former pre-shipment inspection, and checks now take place on arrival. At Toamasina, customs scan trucks and containers without opening them and use risk analysis to target cargo. MWB prepares the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and technical data sheets for the shipment.
Do Tunisian products benefit from a customs preference?
Madagascar and Tunisia both take part in the COMESA free trade area. With a COMESA certificate of origin, issued in Tunisia by customs or a chamber of commerce, products that meet the rules of origin can enter free of customs duties; import VAT is still payable. Madagascar also belongs to SADC, of which Tunisia is not a member. Ask your freight forwarder to confirm that the preference applies before ordering.
How are your offers for Madagascar made?
Our offers are made delivered to the port of arrival, on CFR or CIF terms, from Radès (Tunis) or Sfax; FOB departure is possible on request. In Madagascar, customs duties are calculated on the CIF value of the goods.
Can you combine several products or ship small quantities?
Yes: several product families can be grouped in the same 20 or 40-foot container, and small volumes travel as groupage. For urgent small quantities, air freight from Tunis-Carthage is possible on request.
